My First Mandi Chicken With Rice From Mandi Hadramot in @ Sunway Pyramid | The Rice was flavoured to perfection, with the chicken cooked way too well, to be soft, moist & almost falling off the bone, I loved every bit of it. Now can’t wait to try the version available in kerala | A little bit if history- Originated in Hadhramaut, Mandi (Arabic: المندي) is a traditional dish from Yemen of meat, rice, and spices. It is also eaten in some gulf nations and is now popular in other areas of the Arabian Peninsula. In India it’s popular among the Hadhrami people in the Malabar region of Kerala, Bhatkal of Karnataka, as well as Barkas and areas around Hyderabad. It’s unique because of the tandoor the dish is cooked, a hole is dug out & the meat & Rice is slow cooked sealing & locking all the goodness within. Because of this unique way of cooking, in Kerala it’s called kuzhimandi
I love the Mansaf & Mandi, specially the one with the Lamb! I would go to this restaurant if I ever crave for Arabic food 😋 The waiters are super nice and they like to tease people so don't take it seriously!
