Genuinely surprised they're starting to use real banana leaf again. I can always rely on Kanna for good banana leaf rice (BLR), especially the deep fried squid; ample squish (for the lack of better term) together with fried onions. The curry is a godsend because I'm salivating as I'm typing this. One thing lacking for Kanna though is the fried bitter gourds. They're consistently too burnt, leaving a bitter taste and you need to pay extra for them so I suggest forgo that. Otherwise, Kanna is still a reliable and consistently good BLR place.
It's a must place to have banana leaf whenever I'm in Kuala Lumpur. If you are looking for pure authentic indian treats,it is definitely at Kanna Curry House. Offering delicious curries & other varieties of colourful dishes, that will leave you with a lingering desire for their food. Everything is served hot;the chicken, fish and oh ya the deep-fried squids is flavoursome. I usually wrap up my meal with a glass of Hot Coffee/Teh Tarik to jazz up the remaining sensation in my mouth. Anyways,my recommendation would be the mutton varuval, crab curry, chicken kurma,deep-fried squids, chicken&fish. Well,it's your turn now to know about your favourites at Kanna Curry House.
Very delicious crab fried π. I & my boyfriend always go there for breakfast & lunch. Please walk carefully near the hand wash place cause itβs kinda slippery there. βΊοΈ
A good place to eat with good portion. The curry os good. The squid however will let you down. They will coat it with some kind of flour and you will ended up with more onions than squid in your plate. The papadom sometimes taste waaayyy too salty.
Food = good Indian food. "Roti canai" (the Malaysian version of Malabar parotta) is superb. Rava tosai is good. Banana leaf meal comes with a standard rice+2 vegetable items+curry+dhall+pickle+papadom (lentil chips)+rasam (Indian soup) ... and you can add chicken/mutton dishes ... also available are their awesome "you choose I fry" options of fresh seafood, fish and chicken that are fried right as you choose them.
Ambiance = very clean and service is fast
What can be improved = I do not like their plastic banana leaf! Prefer a proper serving plate or an original banana leaf.
It is okay for me. The curry is soooooooooooo delicious tapi haritu ada 1 time I ordered sotong goreng tp bila dpt bnyk bawang jeππππππππ
Not bad for a mamak, ordering fast and the food portion allot for banana leaf. Except order beverage is abit slow. Overall 3.5 π.
My rating 5 star is base on :
1. Environment 1π (clean for a mamak place)
2. Customer Ordering 1π (good & the waiter polite)
3. Food & Beverage 0.5π (taste funny lemon tea)
4. Timing 0π (reason drink is came very late)
5. Price 1π (RM6.9 a banana leaf without meat reasonable price)
I went there for a several time. I like there thosai, idle, roti chanai. Food are tasty and cheaper. Service also good. Most of the time its been crowded so not to spend a lot of time there.
While my recent visit to KL, I ate here along with my Malaysian colleagues who are regulars at this outlet. I must say that it felt great to eat here as the food was simply lovely.
The service is quick and the meals are prepared wonderfully well. For anyone wishing to have a quick bite this is a lovely place in PJ.
The service is fast, yet it's pricey. For the rotti bomm(not sure if I got the spelling correctly), which is my favorite whenever I go Indian shops/mamak is not the same as what I expected as it's not sweet. They only use planta(sigh**). Rotti canai and dhal is quite good though.
