My first time 12th May 2018, and it was an absolute yums with two thumbs up!! Being from out of town, I was alone, joined the queue, and got myself a spot some 45mins later. Just loved the crabs that came out piping hot with an accompanying gravy that's sweet and sour with a very mild spice taste that flavours it so well. I also had the garlic prawns and that did not disappoint. The chicken wings are also nice but really, it’s the crabs and prawns that are the highlights here!
I love all the food here but especially the Chinese fried rice (reminds me a bit of Spanish paella but drier and cooked with fresh, not leftover, rice). The crabs are superb!! Can thoroughly recommend.
Been going there for over 20 years, of course there's always the ups and the down but me and my family always enjoy the food there. Highly recommend to go!

Lived in KL for six years. This was in our list of our top three favourite places to eat.
Went back there after 10+ years with 30 overseas guests for my 50th birthday and it was still as good as we remembered. We have such fond memories of Fatty Crab. Our son was only a little'n when we started going to Fatty Crab. In June he is taking his own family there to enjoy a special treat with his two little'ns and his wife. Im so jealous... It is our first time trying and it is worth it! Brought my fiance and Dad to celebrate his 77th birthday. He enjoy the food and we had a wonderful night. Thank you for your awesome and fast service.
The line up is always crazy so go before the 5:00pm opening and start lining up otherwise you don't know how long you'll have to wait to get a table. Chili or no chili are all tasty. The chicken wings made by the people grilling on the side are also great. Freshly deep fried and brought immediately to your table. Good for appetizers while waiting for chili crabs
The best chilli crab i have ever tasted so far, the sauce is addictive and paired nicely with bread. The chicken wings also tasted good. Usually need to queue before eat
Chilli crab - sauce is really good, a good balance of savoury, spiciness and tinge of sourness. Crab is really fresh where you don't get that bad crab smell at all. In fact the meat tastes refreshingly sweet on its own! 4.5/5
Fried rice - has a homely feel to it and very good wokhei, when you pour the chilli crab sauce over it elevates the flavour even more. 3.5/5

Marvelous place to dine in with friends & family. Not for lonely eater tho. Bit spicy but taste great. If you can't stand the spice, maybe u can ask them to tone it down. Anyway the chicken wings is superb & order the sugarcane juice too. Sedap ok. And most vital is come early. If not u have to wait in a long que. I waited 30 minutes ok. Haha

The reviews from everyone I heard were quite good and I was keen to give a try . Recommended dishes are fried rice, chilli crab. Super delicious meals with reasonable price. Seafood are fresh and tasty.The location quite hard to find parking environment there was average, was seated not quickly as we had to queue for a while.

I have been coming to Fatty Crab ever since i was small, i use to celebrate my birthday every year here. Ive been eating Fatty Crab growing up. I would say the taste changed a little along the way but still very good. It's the best sweet & sour crab I ever had, not to be biased since I had it since I was small. The taste of crab is unique (sour, spicy and little sweet). I love ordering toasted bread just so i can drench it in sauce and crab meat.
Now the crab is more expensive and smaller than before but the taste is superb. I will only order Sweet & Sour crab and chicken wings, the other dishes i never bothered to order because these 2 are the only ones that are worth filling my tummy with. Ordered other dishes before but don't find it special.
There usually a long queue on weekends, either you come at 5pm or 9pm then you don't have to wait long or you can come on Sunday, you can walk the night market while someone queues. After all these years despite a couple of robberies they still refuse to allow payment by credit card, so bring loads of cash.
Got a referral from a friend that this place is a must eat in KL. And indeed the chilli crab is good. Eventhough from the look of it, it looks like the sauce has a lot of cornstarch, but the taste is very good. A little spicy, a little sour, a little sweet. Very good. They also have chicken wings but I find it subpar when compare to the crab. Thank @dada.tastes for the recommendations.

The waiting game is strong for this one. But for those crab and seafood lovers out there, this is the place to get your hands down and dirty for some good grub. The crabs are not that huge but they are fresh, juicy and just the right amount of spiciness. Don't forget to order yong chow fried rice so you can mix the rice into the crab's shell. The chicken wings here are the best that i have ever tasted
Not a bIg fan of crab, but it was so good. The crab gravy taste good and indescribable. Nasi goreng was delicious and the toast and chicken wings are a must-order-sidedishes. No reservation allowed and you have to queue for the table.

Crabs!!!!!!!The chilli crab is Delicious.The sauce is like heaven lah.Can just eat it with plain bread.t You won't need anything else.Everything here is nice.They serve crabs,fried rice,fried chicken,satay and fish.Im not really a fan of fish,so honestly not sure about the tastelah.Others,I can guarantee it is Delicious.It opens at 5 in the evening but it's gets full by 7.Make sure you are there early so you don't need to queue up.Some might say that the prices are expensive but I personally feel that it's worth because the food is so damn Goooooodlah.Thumbs Up.Just make sure before you die,you come here and makan some ketam first.No regret one.

This place has been around for decades and nothing has changed. Why change something that works? Not everyone will agree, but no matter what this place continues to have queues throughout the week. Fried chicken is well marinated and fried to perfection (mostly), chilli crab sauce goes so well with the toast (crab is typical), fried rice is good (not great) and the prawns are small but tasty. People often go overboard with cold beers, plates of fried chicken and toast for the chilli crab 'sauce'.
Toilet is surprisingly clean with a large hand washing basin.

- can be costly (e.g., beer, crab $150++, prawn) and they charge for everything (towel, toast $1.60 each)

The battle for fresh crabs. Be prepared to que up during dinner time. The fried rice has "wok" flavour...the chicken wings sold just outside the restaurant is good as well. Pork free restaurant.

She looked at me horrified when I asked for the menu, as she expertly balanced the number of people waiting to be seated and those already sitting.
Menu- crab, flylice, prawns in garlic. Order the toasts for the gravy, and get a peek at heaven.
Tip- dont wear something that will stain as you eat with your hands and use your teeth to get to the crab. Yes, they do give you the pliers to crack the crab, buts it more fun getting messy, right!

After 5 years his restaurant got better and better!!! Recommended dishes... All different types of crab (we go for steam crabs and sweet and sour garlic crabs), steam teo chew style fish (siakap), fried rice and side order chicken wings and satay. A must try!!!

It's been awhile since last time I went to a seafood restaurant. I'm tired of eating chickens and beefs all the time. Hence, I decided to check some interesting restaurants that provide the best seafoods in town. I've been to most of the restaurant nearby but there's one place that I seems to be forgotten - the Fatty Crab Restaurant.
Whether their crabs are that fat or not, I had to check it out by myself. Since that place is open for dinner, I decided to eat light during my lunch and skipped my tea time that day. As soon as I got there, I could smell the aroma from the kitchen. So tempting. I asked the server what's the best dish in here and he told me without hesitate, "it's the chilli crab sir. Most of the people that come over are ordering that."
So I ordered a plate of Fatty Crab, Chilly Crab, chicken wings and fried rice. The fried rice is not that great but it will getting much more tastier when you eat it with the fatty crab. Undoubtly the best fatty crab that I had for my entire life. The chicken wings were nice, not too overcooked and not too spicy. Such a great addition to the rest of the meals.
As for the price, you can't expect to pay less for a high quality crabs do you ? This is the best place for me and probably all of you,crab lovers.
