On a business trip to KL, I walked past Koryori Enoshima a number of times on the elevated walkway to Pavilion. The place looks very 'local' from the outside, and the location is a bit hard difficult to find, finally I decided to give it a go.
Very nice menu coupled with great very cozy japanese decor, could easily be mistaken as a small restaurant on the ski slopes of Japan. I arrived for dinner at about 9pm and after stumbling a bit with the dinner menu (ordering for one is difficult) the waiter kindly offered the lunch set menu and said I was welcome to order from that too.
For starters I ordered Edamame (8RM), it was hot crunchy and salty, just as it should be and went very well with a pint of ice cold refreshing asahi (32RM). For main I went for the Salmon Teriyaki set (31RM), it was well presented with miso soup, japanese pickles, salad with great japanese ginger dressing, rice, a generous piece of crispy skinned salon and some pieces of watermelon. The main was very nice and my only criticism is the rice was a little dry and could have done with some Furikake on top.
After enjoying the meal so much I decided to try some of the Negima (5RM per stick) and some of the cold house Sake (180ml - 35RM), both very nice and the Negima made fresh as indicated by a little wait to get it and lovely every so slightly smokey flavour.
I will be visiting again, and even thinking of buying a large bottle of sake that the restaurant will keep your name on for you (with a cute little label) to enjoy whenever you visit.
Service does not stand out, but the food is good here. We tried the sushi and beef tongue, salmon teriyaki. I must have walked by hundred times without noticing this place, inside it is more cozy than first look from outside.
