An exotic fusion of Japanese and Thai cuisine. I tried the Tom Yam Ramen, strong taste with its thick tom yup soup and generous portion of seafood. But beware it’s spiciness is not for the faint hearted. For dessert I tried Sake ice cream. Self explanatory, it packs the taste of Japanese alcohol sake with the right level of sweetness. Recommended.
First thing we noticed was the restaurant’s space is very limited. Highly recommend to make reservation before coming in. The dangerous baby prawn was cripsy and easy to munch, great for appetizer. When our mains arrived, the KFC was cripy, flavourful and juicy, it came with a sauce to dip the chicken as well. However, the tom yum broth was too spicy for our liking. The server was friendly to speak with as she recommended us the mango stickcy rice with coconut ice cream as dessert too. Overall I enjoyed my dinner, would highly recommend anyone come and try.
Food is pricy but very tasty and the staff are attentive and friendly. Place is small so its best to make a reservation before coming. Loved the Dangerous Baby Prawns as a snack. Definitely will return.
tomyam ramen is nice. price is slightly high, but still acceptable. good service, good ambience, decorations are nice, can get really nice photo there. however, place is really small and if u wanna go there better make a reservation first.
This cafe serves Thai Japanese cuisine! All their dishes is really good especially the Tom Yam noodles and the KFC. Is a little pricey but worth a try!
Food was amazing! Ambience & deco was calmingly cool, eventhough it was a full house. Although a bit pricey, you are getting your money’s worth for the food & atmosphere
Very limited dining space, so if you come in a big group you’re expected to wait for an hour or more to be seated. The sashimi rice bowl & fried shrimp is a must!!
Ordered salmon tata and tom yum ramen. Exceeds expectations. Just as spicy as I’d like it to be. Food was excellent and staffs were friendly and attentive. Definitely would come again.
Great service and ambience.
We had the following:
Beef: Good
Salad: Good
Chirashi: Can do better, rice was dry
Considering everything, its a nice place and wud visit again.
Visited Kaiju last month as one of my friends kept on recommending me this place. Tried their Tomyam Udon and I’d say that it has got to be the best Tomyam I’ve ever had as it’s not spicy and sour as the usual one, the broth is thick and really really flavourful. The Tuna Tataki is nice too and it matches so well with the papaya salad. As of the dessert, I get their idea but it tasted just so weird for me lol. The coconut ice cream is really nice tho. Going back soon for their Tomyam udon. 😋
Eating in Kaiju is an experiential event especially since I'm not the biggest fan of raw Japanese food. I have too much of an Indian palatte. However the silver lining is that Kaiju is Japanese - Thai fusion. And I am no 1 fan of everything Thailand. So I tried the tomyam seafood and it was very delicious, more Thai than Japanese. Tried beef stir fried for appetizers, it was very good too. My Japanese food loving friends loved it so I will recommend them. Also perfect environment for couples and large groups. No reservations allowed. You just need to be early and chop a table. Crowd starts coming in at 7.30 onwards. Also if you're a sake lover, there's a RM170 sake bottle which was a friends favorite.
Food: The dishes weren’t only pleasing to the eyes they were also super delicious. Ordered a lot of things since the portion were really small. Definitely order the Kaiju Awesome Beef, I think that’s the name, that dish is to die for. Tokyo Fried Chicken is also goood. Almost every single thing there was good.
Ambience: Very asthetically pleasing and hipster-ish. Very small and confined place too, so it gets crowded really quick.
Service: Very attentive and helpful servers.
Becareful when ordering tho, we ordered around six dishes and one drink and it costs us about RM200+. Mind you, the portions were really small since we mostly order the ‘snacks’.
Very good food and very reasonable for the quality. Major mark down for not taking card though, if it had we would have had a lot more as a group
Yummy !! The food is soooo tasty , I would go there anytime , great ambiance and super friendly stuff !! Finish dinner and walk next door for drinks .. wide variety especially if you like beer !! Highly recommended ..
Double date with my darling last night at this Thai Japanese Fusion Restaurant in Bangsar. I never expect the food here to be so delicious!! From the sake asam boi, sushi, salad, mini pizza, corn, salted fish, Thai clear soup tomyum, KFC (Kaiju Fried Chicken) and so on, all are too good to be true! If you ask me which is my favorite food here, I would say that I can't choose because all of them are very nice! 🤤 You can try it yourself if you don't believe me, even if you believe me you should try it out!!
Don't say I #bojio! #kaiju #fusionrestaurant
Portion wasn't generous enough but the food was good. Small place hence, it's better to head there early. Attentive stuff. Pretty fun fusion cuisine as it's Jap x Thai.
KFC is not the usual KFC that we had outside but it's actually the fermented soybean curd taste-like chicken, it's yummylicious!
The only concern I have is that the restaurant does not have baby chair 😅
Kaiju Company is definitely one of the new kids on the block at AWP, Bangsar that gaining its popularity among many foodies out there. A small cozy place that will definitely win your heart away with its simple setting. Certainly gives a good replica like all those hidden restaurant in Melbourne. This place offer Japanese & Thai gastronomic experience.
something nice to tantalize your taste bud, then kaiju company will give you a little surprise as they offer Jap Thai Fusion food, that filled with nice cozy ambiance. Place is pretty limited and sure to be there early to queue.
Things to order is the Tomyum Udon and Yoyoki Tuna Tataki.
First off, the interior design was SPOT ON! Lovely space albeit a bit cramp when full house. Menu choices were definitely bold and innovative! Tom Yum udon [RM26] was really tasty and a definite must try if your into spicy food. Hawaiian kaiju rice [RM26] could have fared better with a slightly bigger portion and a bit more kick from the curry.
We already have our roll call of fusion restaurants but the recent addition really puts a unique spin to it. Kaiju at APW Bangsar is a contemporary no-nonsense Japanese-Thai fusion restaurant designed for both sharing tapas style and ala carte dishes. The menu is simple and classy with a short list of snack and main. Classy Japanaese ingredients are given some Thai treatment, in dishes like Tom Yum Udon (RM 26) and Yoyoki Tuna Tataki (RM 26) here with the later being my absolute favourite. Papaya salad that accompanies their very consistent and equal cut size of tuna pieces makes this quite an amazing starter or snack.
We ordered according to recommendation of the waiter. Our group was not impressed with the udon tom am soup, but loved all the other dishes, especially the seared tuna with papaya salad, salmon salad and fried lemony chicken. The mains were a bit on the small side, obviously meant to be shared between two diners so had to order more. Food came quickly and the price-quality ratio was excellent. Also tried the sake + lemongrass, which was very nice but a bit on the sweet side.
