I actually quite enjoyed the food here. I heard this place made homemade food so if that's the case, the pizza was awesome and so was the spaghetti carbonara with beef strips. I enjoyed the spaghetti more than the rest.

The mushroom starter was not bad too. There was a complementary side dish too which was bread and fresh olive oil with olive puree. The taste of the olive puree was 😍.

I would definitely want to come back here again to try other dishes. For 2 people, the price was RM99 and it was worth it, no doubt because we could barely finish our meals.

We were a group of 7 celebrating a friend’s birthday,
Ambience - cozy, clean, welcoming.
Service - prompt, helpful, - Nurul and Micheal made it easy.
Food- my lamb rack was spot on! I asked for it well done, the accompanying wine reduction was mild and complemented the lamb beautifully. I paired it with the house pouring sauv bland. Around the table we ordered the salmon steak, beef lasagna, fried calamari, some pizzas, all of which were pretty tasty.
The most disappointing dish was the stuffed chicken breast - it was not cooked thoroughly.
They were quick to suggest replacing the meal but we were more interested in dessert.
Big win - the Panna Cotta - get the sauce by the side.
Overall, it was a nice night out.

One of the best Italian I had in town! What they offered with the price , is really worth it.

Lasagna was just alright for me because I prefer a stronger taste of cheese instead. It's definitely freshly made - with cheddar and mozzarella.

Lamb Ragu has always been my favourite & this dish here is just nice. I like how the taste is mild & didn't have any 'smell'. Not all restaurants could cover it. I'll give it a 8/10.

Pizza Gorgonzola was so yummy with turkey ham, caramelized onions & buffalo cheese. I love how thin and crunchy the crust it. This pizza is definitely perfect.

Their house speciality of Frutti de Mare , which is always my first choice when it comes to spaghetti. They are little dry , not much sauce since it's cooked in a foil. It's good but was a little disappointed with the amount of seafood served.

Overall, it's a 10/10 experience & I wouldn't hesitate to return.

It’s a good place for pizza & pasta lovers! They serve wide range of pizzas and pastas as well as a few risottos. I’ve also ordered half serving of seafood soup (their house specialty!) for sharing. It’s still quite big for 2 persons! And the squid ink pizza is a bomb! Squid ink pasta is common right? What about squid ink pizza! Overall, it’s a very good place for gathering/celebration, but just a bit noisy over there. (Who cares? As long as they serve delicious food!)

Safe Italian food - what made it even better, it's on The Entertainer. Limited choices but good enough if you're looking for a decent plate of pasta. Click here for the post at La Risata Ampang.Likes: Decent Italian food, not too expensiveDislikes: Just forget about the meat....La Risata Damansara. 128, Jalan Kasah,

Located at the back row, it's easy to miss this place. I only knew about Victoria Station, Sri Ayutthaya and Jake's. There used to be another steak house but that place has since closed down. Long time ago, it was for a dinner that turned into a date. As embarrassing as this may seem, my guy radar was/is quite rusty. Those who are friendly and chatty with me, I would attribute as good friends (and nothing more).

Start with the tasty classic tomato & garlic, mushroom bruschettas or crema di funghi and try the pumpkin rocket salad while deciding on your favourite main course. Due to their faulty oven last night, pizzas were off the menu for the time being. We have always enjoyed their pizzas but we had a chance to sample other delectable items on the menu and equal care is taken with their classic pastas, like the spinach gnocchi with cheesy tomato butter sauce we did not hesitate to mop up the extra sauce with some bread rather than let it go to waste. Of course, let s give credit where credit is due, the lasagna di carne. Meaty, tasty with a rather large portion. Their delicious Italian fare will please the most discriminating palate. The drinks and service are on point. Weekends, It can be a bit of a task to get a seat at this extremely popular spot so it’s advised to book in advance.

As one of the oldest and well-known Italian restaurants in KL, La Risata is still thriving and remains a favorite for its hearty classics and wood-fired pizzas. Their first outlet opened in Ampang way back in 1996, followed by a branch in Bukit Damansara three years later. It might seem like a fine dining eatery, but La Risata is in fact casual and rustic, features an open kitchen and quality food is offered at value pricing.

Someone surprised me on my birthday here at La Risata Damansara. How lovely night.. Okayh, its Italian Restaurant with good food! i've been to La Risata Ampang before for candle light dinner. And yeah, my lovely partner know my fav well so he bring me here.

So I ordered Ravioli Di Pesce (RM28) their house specialty - freshly made salmon ravioli in creamy salmon sauce. I never imagine that after eat 6pcs of Salmon Ravioli, my tummy feels like full already. Haha!

He ordered Spaghetti Polpette Di Carne (RM27) which a big plate of spaghetti with gourmet meatballs in tomato sauce. I'm not joking when I told you guys its really worth it! He cant finish his food and I need to eat it also. There's a lot of spaghetti in there! And the meatballs are delicious!

Not to forget, we also ordered Friturra Di Calamari (RM17) a plate of deep fried squid rings in a light batter served with tartar sauce for appertizer actually. And a set of Italian bread which is we didnt ordered but they give it for free lolz. Both are amazing!

And for my birthday cake, its a Torta Di Cioccolato, a flourless dark chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream. Personally I dont like cake especially chocolate cake but this is amazing. The taste is so nyummy.m especially its still warm fresh baked and you need to eat with cold ice cream. Too awesome. And actually its a complimentary from La Risata because of my birthday :p

Thank you my dear for this. A great lovely dinner in beautiful surprise night at amazing Italian Restaurant that more like a private place to eat, with lotsa delicious foods!

My go-to for solid Italian offering at value-for-money prices.

The partially exposed brick interior is dressed using a tasteful yet minimal approach; the lighting is soft. One of the ideal places for a romantic night out (that won't burn a hole in the wallet).

The menu is certainly extensive and covers the wide range of Italian fare, running from the standard pastas and pizzas, to their more uncommon specials which can be very enticing if you feel like standard is boring.

Notably, they have a wide selection of white sauce base pizzas, whereas at most pizzerias the biancos are an afterthought. The pizza carbonara comes to mind as a standout. The pizzas are authentically Italian, i.e. oven fired and thin crust. None of that deep dish Chicago style pie to be found here. This notwithstanding, the red pizzas are all scrumptious. Just be mindful of what toppings you like, and choose carefully! There is a lot to choose from.

There are some must try appetizers as well, and the mixed platter would give a good sampling of what La Risata can offer. For me, my go to is the beef carpaccio (if you don't know me by now, I'm a beef lover and that's not going to change anytime soon).

The pastas are probably the absolute highlight of the menu with the Spaghetti Alla Risata being one of those dishes that leave you with cravings after. I only wish the squid ink pasta/risotto was a permanent fixture as well. It's a seasonal item on the menu, so count your lucky stars if it's available.

I've been coming here for years now and the standard of food is generally consistent, especially in the pasta and pizza category. Sometimes the Secondi Piatti section (the second part of the meal, usually after part one which is the pasta) may be hit and "not so hit". I say "not so hit" because their misses are still better than a lot of Italian restaurants in KL. I find myself preferring to go with an appetiser and a pasta/pizza instead as a safer option.

Be forewarned, at peak times this place can really be packed out and service can understandably waver from its generally good level.  They not only have to deal with a full house, but they also do takeaways for their pizzas as well. The service staff has relatively lower turnaround and some of them have been with La Risata even spanning over 5 years.

Summary: It is very unlikely that I'll find another Italian restaurant in KL that gives the same value for money that I get here. I'm comparing to places like Villa Danieli which would easily be double or triple the price.
