Vburg

The pastry chef's eldest brother is a good friend of mine for over a decade - a genuine, passionate man and this cafe is a total testimony of his and his brothers' philosophy in life: love for food, fondness for rapport between people, respect and passion for life. I've been to vburg only once and only tasted a few items from the menu, but enough to get me to pack dozens other items to take home to singapore to share with family and friends. Personally my favourites are the plain croissant and Otah croissant. I'm neither a fan of vegetarian or Otah, but these totally took me by surprise and blew me away (now you know this, it won't be a surprise for you anymore.. lol). I'd also had the matcha croissant, chocolate croissant, strawberry Frasier and the red bean bun. I don't fancy red bean at all and again I'm surprised I'm okay with the taste of vburg's red bean bun. The soft, fluffy, delicious cotton hiding a skilful and thoughtful blend of red bean paste is irresistible and addictive with each bite; I proved myself wrong about red bean with each bite! The strawberry frasier brought a perfect closure to our delightful afternoon tea; it's neatly adjusted to suit the palette - not too sweet, light and soft to melt gently in the mouth. Despite being in another country, I'll definitely make a point to have these mouth watering heavenly food again! You might think my views are biased cos I'm a friend.
