We were the first customer on 22/12/2017. We read the reviews and had to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. (Even though they didn't have their home-made pasta and we could only get Spaghetti No.5)
The service and presentation is almost fine-dining but the deco is bistro-style and very Japanese, but not luxurious (hence not fine-dining.) There are many cute piggies all around the place. The food was either above average or excellent. They also seem to have a decent selection of wine, but we don't drink.
We had Scallop Mentaiko cream pasta, Sakura Pork Bacon & Fresh Tomato pasta, Sakura Pork Belly with mustard sauce and Grilled Sakura Pork with Scamorza cheese. The Wagyu beef was a bit too expensive for us to dine as a family.
We finished everything! I think they doubted we can finish everything as they suggested that we can takeaway the leftovers. ;)
The best part? We only spent SGD$80 in total, which as far as fine-dining is concern, is a total steal!
If I go back to Ipoh again, I'd definitely come back here again! And this time, I'd try the wagyu.
Every time I'm back in Ipoh I'll come here for a meal or two for sure. Quaint little place run by a young couple. The hubby/chef is Japanese while the sweet wife is from good old Ipoh. Our favorites are the Sakura Pork Bacon with Fresh tomato pasta and the Mentaiko Scallop pasta. Loved the appetizer platter and the desserts too. Simply delicious!
This place has become my favorite place to go ever since my first time here 1 year ago! Zeann never fail to warm my heart with her smile and the food here is great ! They always surprise me with different different type of desserts, my favorite pavlova, orange creme brûlée and so on... they create special deserts at time! I already recommend many friends to come here for their carbonara ! Two thumbs up!
