De' Secret Kitchen

If you're coming here with the expectation of typical or traditional kind of cuisine then you're probably in for a big surprise. The food served here are more towards a fusion mix of different cuisines, and combinations you're probably not immediately familiar with. Having said that, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal which we had no idea what would be served as it is omakase style - so there's no menu to begin with. Everything tasted great in our opinion and some flavours were really new to us (e.g. curry butter, kaeng som mayonnaise) and went well. We especially liked the salmon tartare! Credits to Chef Joe for being courageous in exploring the boundaries and bringing a good marriage of ingredients to the plate. The passion really was translated, and you can feel the genuine interest in whether the food appealed to you or not. All in all, worth a try and we had a great time there. There may be certain anxiousness about not knowing what you'll be having but just prepare to be pleasantly surprised as it is unique. Otherwise if you want some "safe" food, then your local restaurants or hawker may be your best bet.
