The 1st time i know about the place is about the food is so daymn good as it shows on the pix...i already felt in love the moment i had the 1st dish (which is the grilled n sliced briscket) n the list goes on n on...highly recommended for family n friends gathering coz the food is so good...
Skohns Canteen is an unassuming place. The staff are well trained and friendly. They get your orders right and the food is exceptional, stick to your ribs kinda grub.
The pricing is very competitive and the ideas of owner is well represented...

Came here exactly 4 times already. I'd rate the food at 8/10 in general, prices at 8/10 and service at 10/10. Obviously you can compare foods from a restaurant to another and argue that its 8/10 or 9/10, but the laid-back feel to it is just unbeatable and service is just as great.
what the hell do you put in your Cow Ilhamku????? hahahah bloddy sedap! first time to your place just now in the afternoon, had prawn spicy aglio, 2 chicken chop, nachos and Cow Ilhamku, and the bill didnt even break the wallet, were quite surprised really. Keep it up guys!.
TLDR: Original taste & reasonably priced
went with other 4 friends on sunday 3rd April 2016. we had sloppy joe, sköhn ultimatum, grilled chicken, rib eye steak and another burger i cant recall its name.
service was great and sharp, foodwise, we had nothing to comment but praises. the food exceeded our expectations and the deal clincher is that it was affordably priced.
certainly worth the travel from the other side of the town, where we reside, ampang and putrajaya.
I love this no frills just plain good food cafe! We had the lamb shank which was really good and the prawn aglio olio delicious. Portions were big and price reasonable. Will definitely be back to try more awesome stuff on the menu.

Definitely live up to the definition of "bang for your buck", the taste has been consistent for as far as I remembered. Good food, nice people. It's nice to see the suspended meal list. A touch of kindness, and of course, you don't talk about Sköhns without mentioning the great sense of humour. Yes, brace yourself for that :D
For the price it charges (and the suspended meal program it offers), Skohns deserve more than 3.7 star ratings. And for what they position their concept as, the food... is... good!
best value for money western food. casual non pretentious, with honest, earnest food at fair prices, all done the way we eat it. great grilled and deep fried chicken chops, seriously creamy carbonara and mac and cheese from scratch, the lamb shank is one of the best for its price, but i personally love them burgers, the double cheeseburger and the bapaq ayam are two of the best things put on plate. just have to brave the parking. open (most of the) day, errday

Went on a Monday to have their steaks since it's 30% off. Had their grilled T-Bone medium rare. The steak was served simple enough with a side of veges, mash and a choice of sauce. For me I found that they did cook my steak medium rare which was a surprise since this was more of a mom and pop style shop. Usually they tend to overcook it a bit but I was suitably impressed.
Taste wise, I found it good. It wasn't the best steak I've had and it did honestly needed slightly more salt seasoning before being grilled. However their sauces were great so that that made up for it a little. Don't expect prime grade steak when you come here but do expect value on par to what you pay. You won't get USDA or wagyu grade but I found the steak tasty and nice enough that I would consider coming here again, especially on their special days.
As for service, they were pretty prompt and got our orders right, despite us having quite a number of variations in steak doneness and orders.

The food is tasty but the problem here is the place is very limited. It can only afford approximately 30 people in a one time. You need to book earlier or just walk in early to avoid waiting longer just to have your dinner. I've been to this place 2 times. Luckily, I don't need to wait to have my dinner.
A very cosy food outlet. I tried the double combo, chicken, lamb and sausages. Portion is big and very tasty. Highly recommended. We also tried the ribs...yummy..the beef stew is tasty too.
