My favourite Hunan restaurant to visit if I'm craving some spicy dishes. All the dishes that I've ordered so far so good, nothing to discriminate. Love the level of the spiciness.
Favourite place for Hunan dishes - there are a couple of Hunan places in Klang Valley but none of them serve as good Hunan food. This is definitely one of the closest to China taste. Dishes that we always order - chicken with chilli (lat zi kai), beijing cabbage, braised pork belly, long beans, steam chilli fish. Beware though, their dishes can be really spicy!!
The only downside is the parking - luckily they have two lots now but anyway it's always difficult to get a parking in this area. Come on a Sunday if you want hassle-free parking.
I have always thought that Hunan and Sze Chuan food is the same. That got me wrong as Hunan Cuisine is only slightly near to Sze Chuan cuisine where they serve hot and spicy flavour in their dishes. To enjoy one of a authenticity Hunan Food, Restaurant De Hunan (湖南湘菜馆) at Kuchai Lama is a well known place to many folks as they have been well known for ages.
