The queue starts approximately about 12pm during lunch hour. The food replenishes very quickly due to the demand - especially the vegetables. Very simple Indian economy rice which is definitely better than some pretentious Nasi Kandar. One portion of chicken, two portions of vegetable and their curry is enough.

From the time I first started living in KL, that was in 2003, I've been going to this little eatery. Later on, due to the developments in Little India area, they've been put through the hard times of having to shift their place around for not once but twice. However, they seem to be comfortably placed in this location now on Lorong Chan Ah Tong. This place serves home cooking styled dishes mostly prepared by the owner and his wife. From that first time in 2003, and now 14 years later, I have eaten here every time I visited home returning from abroad. The taste of their food is still as delicious as before. The quality is unchallenged. Chicken varuval, mutton varuval, fried chicken, fried fish, fried fish eggs, fish head curry are among the top favourite dishes. My all time favourite is the chicken varuval. It is unparalleled in this area. Spicy and tasty, succulent chicken pieces made to perfection. On this visit, after nearly a year from the last time, I enjoyed a plate of white rice, chicken varuval, and a small piece of fried fish egg. All servings are accompanied by two vegetarian sides of the day. Today it was beansprouts and a cucumber salad. Enjoyed the food to its last morsel. Had an iced tea to complete the meal. Friendly owner and his wife always take good care of the customers. Place gets really busy during lunch hours. They close by 4.30/5 pm. This is a must visit for all those who crave for some good old home cooked Indian food.
